Post Mission report No 3 - Life in Lara - up to 17 Dec 2023

Two weeks have flown by since my last entry. Maybe this little video sums up how I've been feeling. I feel overwhelmed with physical things and underwhelmed spiritually. Painting, painting, painting. This week will be mowing, mowing, mowing as well as painting, painting, painting. Then a short reprieve for Christmas before commencing more work at Anglesea. One little highlight was getting our nativity scene up for Christmas and just survived the gale force winds we had last week. I've been kiting a bit with Andre at North Shore in Geelong. Went to Melbourne on Thursday and bought a new foil board from Ian Mills. Tried it out at Torquay very briefly on Friday afternoon, before going to the Stonker Christmas/Start of Summer party. Went to watch Jiah play basketball yesterday afternoon, then had lunch with Sue Fenner-Smith afterwards. Nice day! Church was good today, 17 December 2023. My old mate Nick Grbin spoke, as well as my other old mate David Cowan. Both great talks.

Post-mission Report No 1.

Well, we've been home 6 weeks now. If you go to my Mission Report Blog, you will see our report about the drive home which took about 2 weeks. The first Sunday in Geelong for us was General Conference video weekend. We didn't attend - we just watched it online. We had already seen about 80% of it before the weekend anyway. The second Sunday here in Geelong we had some Japanese friends from Cairns come with us to Church, which we very much enjoyed, and we all felt very welcome. Lots of hugs etc. Then the next Sunday, Miriam and Taylor came over to see us, and they came to Church with us, of course. Then the next Sunday our young friend C_____, who lives here in Geelong, came to Church with us, which again was very enjoyable. Last Sunday 12th November...

Post mission report No 2

Friday 24 November 2023 The past week we have been on the road again. The floors at Archimedes Ave are being sanded and refinished, so we can’t be there while all that work is being done. We moved everything from the rest of the house in to our bedroom so the floors in all the other rooms can be worked on, and then when we move everything back in to the house from the shipping container, and out of our bedroom, we can get the floors done in our bedroom, so that they match the rest of our house. So, last Monday and Tuesday nights we stayed with Miriam and Taylor at The Gurdies, the we stayed Wednesday night with Stephanie Woodford back in Geelong, and last night and tonight we are staying with Josie Whalebone at her new house in Bacchus Marsh. Today we had lunch with Ros Richardson, and old friend of Margot’s whom she served with as a Stake Missionary way back in Normanhurst Ward when they were both young and single. We had a nice lunch and a good chat. Ros’s husband, Craig, passed...
